Job Description

Join a leading manufacturing company as a Press Operator, responsible for producing high-quality fine-blanked parts by operating press machines in accordance with company standards and customer specifications. We have two (2) open roles ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude and attention to detail who thrive in a hands-on production environment. 

Location: Shelton, CT 

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Operate press machines and perform tasks as per job instructions. 
  • Assist with first and last piece inspections to ensure quality standards. 
  • Stack and fill parts into tote pans as required. 
  • Maintain production levels and perform quality checks per inspection guidelines. 
  • Operate uncoiler/straightener and ensure proper material feeding. 
  • Report quality or operational issues to the Pressroom Supervisor or Manager. 
  • Recommend process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Assist in training new press operators as needed. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. 
  • Accurately record work hours and job activities. 
  • Follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • 1+ years of factory experience operating presses. 
  • Ability to read measuring devices (micrometers, bore gauges, drop indicators). 
  • Basic math and data entry skills. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, SPC, and blueprint reading. 
  • Ability to use hand tools (Allen wrenches, adjustable wrenches, screwdrivers). 
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements: 

  • Stand and move for extended periods (80-90% of shift). 
  • Lift to 45 lbs. and perform repetitive motions. 
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery, fumes, and high noise levels (ear protection required). 
  • Wear the required PPE (safety shoes, goggles, gloves, and other protective gear as needed). 

Competency Expectations: 

  • Independently perform press machine setups and operate various press tonnages. 
  • Read and understand job instructions and setup sheets. 
  • Apply problem-solving skills to troubleshoot production issues. 
  • Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and adaptability. 

Additional Information

Job Type & Schedule: 

  • Monday – Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30 pm 
  • Occasional OT shifts on Fridays
