Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: 

• Have the ability to hold tight tolerances of +/- .0001. 
• Work independently. 
• Work from verbal instructions. 
• Work in a versatile environment. 
• Communicates and work with management, engineers and quality personnel to resolve machining or quality issues. 
• Balance, dress and mount wheel in machine. 
• Select proper speeds and feeds according to type and size of material. 
• Set-up and operate machines such as surface grinders to fabricate metal parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations. 
• Perform precision measurements using tools such as micrometers, and calipers. 
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards. 
• Make adjustments to machine settings to ensure proper performance. 
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve production issues. 
• Maintain a clean and organized work area. 
• Experience in machining and operating various types of manual surface grinding machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements. 

 Qualifications/Skills: 

• Ability to read blueprints, do some shop math, and the ability to use measuring tools like calipers and micrometers. 
• GD&T a plus, but not required (will train) 
• 5+ years' experience in manual machining required
