A well-known and reputable organization that operates several day and overnight camps in Litchfield County is looking for a Behavioral Specialist to join their team and contribute to the positive development of the campers. The position requires a Behavioral specialist for each week of camp at two different overnight camp locations, one in Bantam and one in Morris.
This is an excellent opportunity for counselors who have the summers free from their year-round positions, are looking for some fun and the chance to earn some extra income during the summer.
Schedule
The role will require you to start every Sunday – 1pm – 9pm Or 2pm -10pm (This is basically to help campers arriving and settling down).
Monday to Friday - 9hour shift (flexible on hours)
Camp Dates
Each assignment is for 4 weeks.

Position Overview:
As a Behavioral Specialist, you will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment at camp. Your primary responsibility will be to observe and address the behavioral needs of campers (home sickness, bullying, self-harm issues), providing targeted interventions to promote positive social interactions, join in camp activities and help with campers. This position requires a unique blend of empathy, patience, and expertise in behavior management.
Qualifications:
No specific certifications or licenses required, but education and/or work experience should be relevant and indicate qualifications.
Compensation & Benefits
Weekly stipend between $600 - $800 / week
Children or grandchildren can attend our day camp for free! Additionally, they can enjoy the overnight camp experience at a 50% discounted rate.
