O.D. Roll Grinder

Job Description

A local manufacturing company is looking for a dedicated O.D. Roll Grinder to join their team.

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To ensure quality grinding of customer product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

  • Sets up and operates O.D. Roll Grinding machines as directed.
  • Dressed grinding wheels and grinds product.
  • Inspects all finished work and reports all problems to include the sue of all company approved inspection techniques and equipment.
  • Maintains proper coolant concentrations and levels of coolant tanks.
  • Cleans coolant tanks as required.
  • Completes all required routine (daily/weekly) preventative maintenance as directed.
  • Keeps work area within department cleaned daily.
  • Moves or coordinates movements of finished work to next step of the process as directed on the job ticket.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:  Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person

 

Job Requirements

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Mechanical and math aptitudes
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Able to use measuring equipment, i.e. calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
  • Organizational and housekeeping skills

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Needs to use hands and feet to be able to put on Personal Protection Equipment including goggles, boots and gloves when needed.
  • Needs to be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to be on feet 80-90% of time. This includes walking and crouching.
  • Regularly use hand tools and heavy machinery requiring good hand-and-eye coordination, balancing and leg strength.
